Fulltilt Poker
also held a handful of charity poker tournaments
to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina.
This note was posted by Howard Lederer,
one of the Pro's that Play at Fulltilt.
"Sorry for the late notice, but there
will be a $20+10 tournament Friday, Septemebr
2nd at 9:15 (Eastern). The "+10"
will go to the Red Cross’ Hurricane
2005 Relief Fund and will be matched 100%
by Full Tilt Poker."
Fulltilt also held another tournament on
Sunday the 4th as well. Thank you Full
Tilt Poker.
If you live in the Atlanta Area, there is
a Live
Charity Poker Tournament on Sunday September
25th at Copelands Restaurant. This is not
an APC event, but the guys over at Wicked
Chops Poker are good people and the
tournament is for a great cause.
Hurricane Katrina
is proving to be one of the worst natural
disasters in American History. As I write
this right now, the city of New Orleans
is nearly completely underwater and city
conditions are in Anarchy.
Things have seemed to improve somewhat now,
not teetering on falling into anarchy, but
there are still pockets of armed resistance
and the majority of New Orleans is underwater,
and the process of searching for survivors
continues... Why didn't they use
the school buses during the
mandatory evacuation?
If you would prefer to donate directly,
you can visit the Red Cross at www.redcross.org.
Thank you to both Poker
Room and Fulltilt
Poker for stepping up to the plate in
a time of need. It is good to see the leaders
of the online poker community step up to
the plate and donate money in a time like
this... thanks. On a lighter note, we did
catch a handful of Pro's
playing at Full Tilt the other day,
check out the custom made Avatars.
Thanks and we'll see you at the tables!
KAP
P.S. *Editors Note - After
seeing the lead taken by Poker Room and
Full Tilt, the majority of the poker rooms
we review in the online poker rooms section
are also holding charity poker tournaments
for hurricane Katrina Relief.
