Doyle
Brunson is seated in a game deep
in the heart of Texas, and a regular player
puts a book on the table next to him. The
title of the book is obscured...by another
book sitting on top of it.
The game is no-limit, and the player makes
a huge bet, really over-betting the pot.
At the same time, he 'accidentally' knocks
the top book off the table, revealing the
title of the book below: How to Win Millions
By Bluffing in Poker. His opponent, on seeing
the title, called, and was shown the nuts.
Over the course of the night, this player
kept making big bets and winning the big
pots by showing the nuts (of course Doyle,
though tempted, never called him). After
winning a huge sum, the player took his
leave of the game, tossing the book to his
opponents on his way out the door. Every
page of How to Win Millions By Bluffing
In Poker was blank except the first, which
read, simply, "Don't."
Thanks and we'll see you at the tables!
