players in the World Series of Poker Main
Event was big, just wait until 8000 of the
best poker players in the world converge on
Las Vegas for the biggest poker tournament
in history. Harrahs is planning on capping
the total # of entries into the WSOP at 8,000
this year and a 10 day schedule to complete
this mega tournament! Online poker rooms are
responsible for a huge percentage of the players.
We won't know exactly until after the WSOP,
but a rough estimate is that for every 2.5
players at the WSOP, 1 of them will have qualified
online. Poker Stars is giving away 5 million
in free prize packages to the WSOP between
now and then and alone, and FullTilt Poker.net
just advertised 100
free WSOP Seats on TV. more...

Poker Stars is giving
away $5 Million worth of WSOP Packages between
now and the start of the WSOP Main Event.
Last year, they sent 1 out of every 5 players
to the WSOP, this year, they are trying to
top that. Stars is one of the best online

That bane of online tournaments
--- the inevitable slow play that takes place
before the bubble bursts. Is stalling near
the bubble sound strategy or is it an abuse
of the online poker system? Lee Jones, author
of Winning Low Limit Holdem and the poker
room manager over at PokerStars recenly went
on a rant about players stalling when it gets
near the money or next money level online.
