The Joelarbear
dominated again with constant, battering
aggression. He played a large stack very well...
there are a number of great discussions going
on in the forum about hands
that were played.
Last week justthedude and I played a Sit N
Go after our league tournament. We were both
looking good going into the money, when he
got all his chips in with AK against AJ and
took a bad beat to bust out the 4th. I ended
up winning by implementing justthedudes very
own
5 tips to playing heads up poker.
Thanks jtd. JTD also wrote another great article
about rules
to remember while playing poker.
Hope to see all the online regulars out this
Sunday evening (it was good to see those of
yall who did make it out!). It's not the same
without yall and hey, everyone makes mistakes...
at poker and in life so I publicly apologize
to a good friend of mine. If you read this
far like you've said you do then you'll see
it ;) Sorry man!

As
most of you guys know I'm a pretty big fan
of online poker. I've been playing online
for over 2 years and have consistently won
at lower stakes online poker. I'm going
to start giving a report of my weekly win
or loss rate.
My Favorite Site:
Bodog
Poker Read
my Review
My second favorite site:
FullTilt Read
my Review
Bodog is THE #1 poker room for poker
tournaments with Overlay.
Bodog's tournament schedule
I played a little 1/2 shorthand at Empire
for an overall loss, although I had a few
modest winning sessions. Many times I will
have built my $50 buyin to over $65 in a
1/2 limit ring game only to lose it down
to $53 or $54 bucks before getting up with
my modest profit.
I took some very bad beats with players
hitting longshot draws against me numerous
times but I know that I'll go through swings
like that.
I played some NL Ring at at Bodog and also
lost a little bit. No Limit is a different
animal than limit in my opinion. You have
to get paid when you make a big hand and
avoid paying off other players with 2nd
best hands.
I can't complain though, because the time
before I made a huge chunk of profit 1 hand
where I flopped a set, turned a boat and
then checked the river because I thought
my opponent was on a Flush Draw and missed.
Here is how it went down. I hold TT and
make a 3-4x raise pre-flop with 2 callers.
I flop my set with two clubs on the board
and I make a slightly less than half pot
sized bet to see what i'm up against. I
get 1 caller.
The turn pairs the board and I hit a boat.
I make another moderate bet and am quickly
called. I'm assuming this guy is on a flush
draw but I'm not sure. The river is a blank
and I decide to check it.
Now, I check here for a couple of reasons.
If he was on a flush draw, he missed and
he isn't going to call any real bet from
me. Since I put him on the flush draw I
thought I would give him the opportunity
to bluff at the pot.
He might think I'm betting my flush draw
and I've missed, or he might think that
my check on the river seems weak and might
make a bet at the pot.
So I check and he bets out about $25, which
is half of his remaining stack. I push all
in and get called. GG, thank you for the
money!
