As
most of you guys know I'm a pretty big fan
of online poker. I've been playing online
for over 2 years and have consistently won
at lower stakes online poker. I'm going to
start giving a report of my weekly win or
loss rate.
New - We've re-designed the Online
Poker Room Guides!
My Favorite Site:

the Review
My second favorite site:
FullTilt Read
the Review
I broke one of my cardinal rules and stayed
at a bad table at Empire
Poker playing 2/4 limit. My stubborn arse
wouldn't get up and find a new table even
though I knew I should have. I bought in for
$100 and within an hour I'm down to $50...
bah!
Next I decided to play some short handed 1/2
limit at
Bodog Poker. My table was ultra aggressive
and I never hit any cards, another quick loss,
joy!
Sometimes poker is painful... I need more
table time.
Another tough finish for me 2 weeks ago in
the Sunday
night league tournament. I played a tight
game early and pretty much avoided most confrontations
and got short-stacked. I wasn't getting the
cards and I lost a few pots that I did get
involved with or if I completely missed the
flop.
I was down to around 700 chips with around
16 or so people left which was near the bottom
of the chip count. I employed the all-in or
fold method that 6foot3 talked about when
we were at the World Series of Poker and the
recent knowledge I learned in the Harrington
on Hold 'Em Volume II that I just finished...
I built those few chips into around 4500 chips
by the time we hit the final table. I was
in 3rd or maybe 4th chip position when the
final table started.
How I lost all my Chips at the Final
Table.
A few hands in, I pick up KQs
UTG (under the gun, 1st after the big blind).
The table seems to be playing fairly tight
and I think an aggressive bet from me in early
position will probably pick up the blinds.
I thought about folding here, but decided
to raise.
Tiff calls, who is only 2 seats to my left
and the rest of the field folds. Ok - I'm
putting Tiff on something like Jacks through
a medium pair. I think AK would have re-raised
pre-flop and AA/KK are possible but unlikely.
AQ is possible
The flop comes KK5 - with
two diamonds, this is beautiful for me, right?
There is 1500 in the pot and I consider slow
playing here, but I had a feeling that if
I make a probe bet I might get raised big,
which is what i want.
I bet 500 and am called. - Ok that fits my
idea that a middle pair is out. I'm hoping
it is Aces that are out now and I'm about
to double up.
The pot is now 2500 - The turn is Js.
Now as long as Tiff isn't holding pocket Jacks,
I'm in the lead, right? I don't want to give
a free card to AQ or a diamond draw. If I'm
beaten here I've got outs but I think I'm
still in the lead.
I bet out 1000 and am called. - Ok, what the
hell is Tiff playing here? AK would have re-raised
me on the turn for sure. Would she really
call another 1000 with a gutshot? Does she
have the case King?
The pot is now 4500 and I've got about 2500
in chips left or so.
The river is the Th - Ok christ this is a
bad card for me.
Final Board - Kd Kh 5d Js Th
I'm holding trip kings with a queen kicker.
I've raised and been betting the entire hand
up to now.
I shouldn't have bet here (looking back) but
I'm hoping she is on a Diamond Draw... but
a lot of possible hands still beat me. For
example, AK, KJ, KT, AQ, JJ, TT, Q9.
I bet 1000 and get re-raised all in. I know
I'm beat but I call anyway. She flips over
KJ. She played the hand great after the very
loose pre-flop call in my opinion. I bust
out and go lick my chops.
I honestly don't know if I could have gotten
away from that hand unless I folded it pre-flop.
I smelt that I was beat on the river but called
anyway...
I can't wait till next Sunday!
