JEFFREY's: Championships ended last week with a Bang while the Atlanta Poker Club and its players are hit with a Bombshell.

SOCO: Ladies night was a huge success as two tournaments were played side by side. We had 32 women and 49 men battle it out for iPods and the oh-so valuable points, towards the Season 3 SoCo Championship prize.

Congrats Jay and John! You guys deserve it! You are both feared and respected by everyone in the Atlanta Poker Club. We want to thank you again for being with us since that first tournament back on April 20, 2004! THE BOMBSHELL Ironically, that first tournament (which was held at Jeffrey's Suwanee 14 months ago) drew an impressive 52 poker players. Jay Jones was #2 on the sign-up sheet and John F. was #7 - - I guess they were ready to play some poker. Since then, the APC has shown up in droves to support Jeffrey's and to thank them for letting us play poker at their venue...we have averaged more than 70 players per event, with a high mark over 120!!! Despite Jay's and John's support (have you guys missed a tourney?) and every other Atlanta Poker Club player who has supported Jeffrey's (Suwanee, Braselton and Alpharetta) with their hard earned money...buying drinks, buying food, creating excitement, telling their family and friends...despite all of this, Jeffrey's has sold ALL of us out to a lowball company. It's our feeling (and that of every APC player we've talked to) that Jeffrey's may have lost sight of what is important - their customers - and have decided to try out a lower quality company promising things it may or may not be able to deliver. We personally want to thank each and every one of you who plays poker with the APC and all the poker players who have played with us at the Jeffrey's locations for the past 14 months. 2. SOUTHERN COMFORT POINTS RACE GOES TO THE WIRE...

Dion Knudtson overcame a 1000+ point deficit to overtake Gary Hall as points champion for SoCo Season 3. Dion took back-to-back first place finishes two weeks ago, followed by another stellar weekend, with a 4th place finish on Ladies Night and a 3rd this past Saturday.

Wow - Dion is on fire!!!

If you haven't heard about the APC's experiences at the 2005 WSOP check out the forum and all of the 2005 World Series of Poker photos!

Nicky Nichols placed in the money in the second largest poker tournament of all time. Nicky finished #182, Ben Nash played with Evenly Ng and Phil Hellmuth sat on Spry's lap, er, immediate left.

It was an experience of a lifetime and we can't wait until next year.

As most of you guys know I'm a pretty big fan of online poker. I've been playing online for over 2 years and have consistently won at lower stakes online poker. I'm going to start giving a report of my weekly win or loss rate. We'll see how I do between now and the Vegas Trip as I plan on taking a large portion of my bankroll with me to play at the live tables.

I didn't play online at all this week. It's been a bit hectic. I'll get back to it soon though, I miss my online poker.

If you are a Sit-N-Go fan they've got a SNG table called 'Maui' that has a $15k bonus attached to it. It cost's $5.00 +.50 to play and if you win 5 times in a row, they throw in a bonus of $15,000! Check their Terms and Conditions as they will disqualify you if they think you're colluding or see soft play.

6foot3 won $7k at the $100k Guaranteed tourney at Bodog. Nicely played man, keep it up. 4th place is very respectable in this huge tourney. There was around 40% of overlay (extra money added) in this tourney and he qualified for $10 bucks, Not a bad ROI!

Here is Bodog's tournament schedule and just look for the tourneys that have a Guaranteed Prize Pool... these nearly always have overlay! They've got eight guaranteed tourneys.
