What
a wild week of poker for the APC, we've
had 2 APC records broken since we returned
from the World Series of Poker. Just
look around your average APC table when
you sit down, you'll likely see 3 or
4 sharks swimming around... This wasn't
the case in Season I, or even Season
II for that matter. The competition
is better at all locations and the real
question is which player are you, a
shark or a guppie?
They
say "What
happens in Vegas stays in Vegas"
but
that's not the case with the APC's first
annual trip out to play in the World
Series of Poker! We've posted some pic's
so check em out, we've got the
WSOP
2005 pictures.
Ladies (and gentlemen) The APC
Ladies Night Challenge
is scheduled for July 1st @ Southern
Comfort. We will also be running
our normal tournament at the same time.
Points will count for BOTH tournaments
- ladies if you win your tournament
you get the same number of points as
if you won the regular tourney. Men,
you also get points - this is an important
tourney as there will be a large # of
points distributed.
Special thanks to Southern Comfort
for hosting APC Ladies Night and to
Gaming
Club Poker for helping sponsor this
event! We've got cool prizes (IPOD's)
for the winners as well as a lot of
Gaming Club Poker and APC T's.
Bronx extended his live poker winning
style to the online
poker league this past week. Congrats
on the well played match. It was our
first week back at it after a 1 week
hiatus and it was enjoyed by all. Shamrox
and Mustang also played great poker.
Read the rest of the shuffle for a lot
more info and happenings with the APC.
We've got the Championship Schedules
and the details on the APC records being
broken. A quick Congrats to Cecilia,
affectionately refered to as the "APC
Granny" for breaking one
of the records!

 |
APC's
oldest winner ever! It's true,
poker is a sport that can be played
by all. Congratulations to Cecilia who
becomes the oldest player in Atlanta
Poker Club History to win a tournament!
Cecilia took home 1st place at SoCo
on Saturday night proving that even
at 91 years young you can still play
cards. Tell her congralutaions

showing against some of the strongest
players at the APC. |

It was a good tournament with nearly
everyone being a solid player. Bronx
played a great game, mixing up his aggressive
play with trapping and keeping us from
getting a good read. Shamrox went on
a crazy run catching pocket rockets
three hands in a row and taking down
nice pots to add to his chip lead. Mustang
continued to play impressive poker finishing
a respectable 5th with myself taking
4th and an AFK PokerMoves autofolding
a huge early chip stack to take 3rd.

If you haven't read about the
APC's experiences at the 2005 WSOP then you've
got to take a read through the forum. Nicky
Nichols placed in the money in the second
largest poker tournament of all time. So Nicky
made the money, Ben Nash played with Evenly
Ng and about 2 hours in Phil Hellmuth sits
on Spry's immediate left. It was and experience
of a lifetime and we can't wait until next
year.
We'll have more pictures posted soon, so keep
an eye on the site.

Online Poker
As
most of you guys know I'm a pretty big fan
of online poker. I've been playing online
for over 2 years and have consistently won
at lower stakes online poker. I'm going to
start giving a report of my weekly win or
loss rate. We'll see how I do between now
and the Vegas Trip as I plan on taking a large
portion of my bankroll with me to play at
the live tables.
My Favorite Site:
Bodog
Poker Read
the Review
My second favorite site:
FullTilt Read
the Review
I didn't play a whole lot of online poker
this past week, it's been a hectic week.
It's been a hectic week, we just put our house
on the market and that's been consuming most
of my free time, online poker took a back
seat. If you know anyone looking for a
home to buy in the Mall of Georgia Area,
let me know!
So I played maybe an hour other than the online
league where I finished 4th. I caught great
cards late in the tourney and made a run when
it was down to 4 (really 3 as pokermoves was
AFK and auto-folding) only to get semi-sucked
out on when Shamrox called my all in bet with
KQo out flopped my AJo. It wasn't a bad call
by him in my opinion as I had been hyper aggressive
of late.
I played a little 1/2 limit waiting for the
tourney to start at Fulltilt on Sunday night
and I played a little NL Ring game at Bodog.
I'm going to play in a couple of Bracelet
Races at FullTilt.
These are $24+2 buyins with around 100-150
people and the with the winner gets a $2000
package to go play in one of the smaller events
at the WSOP, just like the one we played in.
Noble Poker
(read
the review) has one of the coolest promos
online right now. If you are a Sit-N-Go
fan they've got a SNG table called
'Maui' that has a $15k bonus
attached to it. It cost's $5.00 +.50
to play and if you win 5
times in a row, they throw in a bonus
of $15,000! Check their Terms
and Conditions as they will disqualify you
if they think you're colluding or see soft
play.
6foot3 won $7k
at the $100k Guaranteed tourney
at Bodog. Nicely played man, keep
it up and next time you'll take home 1st!
4th place is very respectable in
this huge tourney. There was around 40% of
overlay (extra money added) in this tourney
and he qualified for $10 bucks, Not a bad
ROI!
Here is Bodog's
tournament schedule and just
look for the tourneys that have a Guaranteed
Prize Pool... these nearly always
have overlay! They've got eight guaranteed
tourneys.
I'm Starting Over!
Current
Roll...
Last weeks results:
-$8 Total hours played
= +/- 2 Current
Bankroll = $192 Bankroll
goal by the end of June
= $300. (starting over) |
