First, WSOP winner Jamie Gold is sued by WPT Boot Camp Instructor Crispin Leyser and the entire $12 Million dollars is frozen via injunction. Next, 4th place finisher Richard Lee is investigated for running what is rumored to be one of the largest sports book betting operations in San Antonio Lee has not be formally charged nor arrested and as a matter of fact, the media seems to have gone silent on it. I wonder who's names he had in his little black book...? And now the creme de la creme of the 2006 WSOP - there were over 2 Million in extra chips in play at the WSOP final table. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sept 11, 2006 Where did the 2 Million + extra chips in play at WSOP Final Table come from? Here's the short version of the story: More than $2,000,000 in chips magically appeared somewhere during the late stages of the 2006 World Series of Poker, swelling the total chips in play from just under $88 to more than $90 million. The surplus seems to be between 2.0 and 2.5 million chips, and we'll likely never know the exact overage that was introduced to the tables.
