Took some time off to get away and since I've come back I have at least cashed every session, profiting nearly every session too.
2 Final tables today, and deep in 3 others. The first final table(1:30pm $50 1rebuy, 1 add-on) I ran into set over set and got 6th. And the awesome hand that nearly cost another computer: Win this for like 80% of the chips in play and cruise to $12k. Bad call by him given my stack and therefore my range...even in a turbo. But still a call I want.
For what its worth, having the attitude of "trying to push him off any ace" is really the wrong approach. You want a call when you are a 2.5:1-ish favorite. Its an approach I see a lot of players make and definetly one I was guilty of in the past. Poker is all about confidence. The 5 min walk I took after this beat wasn't exactly pleasant, however I sit here now knowing I may just have lost out on $8k more, but at least I put myself in the best situation possible to win that $12k. |

Glad to see you back to the final tables BG. Variance will swing your way I'm certain man. No doubt you'll be taking some of these down in the near future.
I don't think you can play that hand any differently... I was thinking if this is a 'call' pre flop and a push/call all in on the flop but I don't think so... i think this is a clear push pre-flop... Anyone disagree??

I know what you are saying Barry, and I do agree. But how many times do you push and get your money in with the best of it only to be rivered. I can go back and count posts and laptops for ya if you want me too. Yes, you do want a call, but we never seem to remember the times that our coin flip held up.
