I'm trying to control the urge to bet, Bet, BET, BET, BET!!! I've always been too aggressive online. When I keep myself reeled in, I do ok. I just read a Mike Caro quote that was something to the effect of "Never bluff unless you have a good reason to". It goes along the same lines as the logic of: If you don't know why you're winning, leave the table while you're still up. Or, If you know exactly why you got busted and you feel confident that you can beat that game, buy back in.

How large are your bets compared to the size of the pot? You have got to make sure you are betting large enough amounts that do not give the right pot odds to call. Also, when you raise are hitting the 'raise' button that does the minimum raise (which I see all the time from many players) or are you putting in 3-5x raises? If I am playing in a $100 NL game and me and another player have around $200 in front of us, I will often times call a bet EVEN IF i don't have the proper odds to hit it based on the current size of the pot. I will almost always call a minimum raise with any sort of crazy draw. Why, because I know you have a strong hand like top 2, TPTK or the like and if I hit my hand on the turn I am going to win a larger chunk of your stack, if not all of it. I don't know if you really wanted an answer to that question but my biggest piece of advice is to properly size your bet amounts. Keep the pot small when you don't have a strong hand and build it big when you do.

Spry pretty much took all the words out of my mouth. The only thing I can add is this. When you notice a player is very aggressive try calling his raise with nothing preflop in position....check call the flop...and more then likely he he is going to check the turn or slam the pot button thats when you just reshove and make him fold. Of course this only works in very aggressive players HU but will lead to a alot of big pots. I learned that from cardrunners =)

I’ve recently switched back to tournaments and SNG’s from cash games. I know that cash games are more profitable, but my ego causes me to keep buying in when I should set a stop loss. I’ll switch back at some point but right now my mindset is not right for cash play.

Nice going nate. I remember you telling me about that now. I guess I should be lucky that I am not losing, but I'm not winning either. I'll play a 5.50 sng and bubble then I'll steam and play a 10+1 sng and cash and leave even for the day. I get killed at the cash tables because I play way to tight.
