Default How to Abuse Your Luckbox

I know we've all whined about bad beats and suck outs.
Well, there's always someone on the receiving end of those hands and sometimes it's me.

Here's what happened on three successive hands to take out the last three opponents:

Now, keep in mind that these were the last 3 hands (in a row) of the tourney.
If you're gonna win, go ahead and destroy their very will to go on.

Sorry, but as an online player, you'd have to admit that hitting those hands would give anyone a chubby to make any porn site jealous.

Sometimes you just have to trust in your inner luckbox. Like on this, the very first hand of a tourney:

Table 1 - 15/30 - No Limit Hold'em - 6:17:25 ET - 2009/01/02

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to EvilWeenie [8d 8h]

travsniper raises to 210
Kappa57 calls 210

EvilWeenie folds

aldrigo60 raises to 1,500, and is all in

travsniper calls 1,290, and is all in
Kappa57 calls 1,290, and is all in
aldrigo60 shows [Ah As]
travsniper shows [Kh Qd]
Kappa57 shows [Kd Js]
*** FLOP *** [7c 6s Ks]
*** TURN *** [7c 6s Ks] [5h]
*** RIVER *** [7c 6s Ks 5h] [4h]
aldrigo60 shows a pair of Aces
travsniper shows a pair of Kings
Kappa57 shows a pair of Kings
aldrigo60 wins the pot (4,530) with a pair of Aces
Kappa57 stands up
travsniper stands up
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 4,530 | Rake 0
Board: [7c 6s Ks 5h 4h]
Seat 1: aldrigo60 (small blind) showed [Ah As] and won (4,530) with a pair of Aces

Seat 4: travsniper showed [Kh Qd] and lost with a pair of Kings because he way overvalued a weak hand way too early.

Seat 5: Kappa57 showed [Kd Js] and lost with a pair of Kings cuz he's an idiot.

Seat 7: EvilWeenie didn't bet (folded what would have been the Ace-crackin' nuts)

Somehow, I think I'd have lost anyway cause this guy was sitting on 3 or 4 luckboxes today:

Table 1 - 20/40 - No Limit Hold'em - 6:24:57 ET - 2009/01/02
Seat 1: aldrigo60 (5,840)

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to EvilWeenie [Tc 8h]

LeBronik2008 raises to 120

aldrigo60 raises to 5,840, and is all in

To his credit, this LeBronik actually thought about it for a few seconds before calling. Behold, the power of the luckbox.

LeBronik2008 calls 1,335, and is all in
aldrigo60 shows [Qc Qh]
LeBronik2008 shows [Ad Ah]

*** FLOP *** [Jh Qd 6s]
*** TURN *** [Jh Qd 6s] [3c]
*** RIVER *** [Jh Qd 6s 3c] [6c]
aldrigo60 shows a full house, Queens full of Sixes
LeBronik2008 shows two pair, Aces and Sixes
aldrigo60 wins the pot (2,970) with a full house, Queens full of Sixes
LeBronik2008 stands up
*** SUMMARY ***
aldrigo60 is a total luckbox. What more of a summary do you need?

When you're hot you're hot. When you're not you're Nate. This guy is invincible. If he doesn't crack your aces, he'll tie them. Knowing that this guy is a very aggressive player (but forgetting about the horseshoe in his ass), I chose to slow play a very big hand against him.

Table 1 - 40/80 - No Limit Hold'em - 6:42:41 ET - 2009/01/02
Seat 1: aldrigo60 (6,425)

Seat 7: EvilWeenie (2,065)

EvilWeenie posts the big blind of 80

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to EvilWeenie [Ad As]

aldrigo60 raises to 160

EvilWeenie calls 80
*** FLOP *** [8d Ks Kc] Not even this guy will have a King here
EvilWeenie checks
aldrigo60 bets 80
EvilWeenie calls 80
*** TURN *** [8d Ks Kc] [Kd] OK, there's no way he has a King here
EvilWeenie checks
aldrigo60 checks
*** RIVER *** [8d Ks Kc Kd] [Kh] Quads with top kicker. Good time to shove and get a call from an aggressive opponent with any two cards.

EvilWeenie bets 1,825, and is all in
aldrigo60 calls 1,825

*** SHOW DOWN ***
EvilWeenie shows [Ad As] four of a kind, Kings
aldrigo60 shows [Ah 3h] four of a kind, Kings
EvilWeenie ties for the pot (2,085) with four of a kind, Kings
aldrigo60 ties for the pot (2,085) with four of a kind, Kings
*** SUMMARY ***
Sometimes you just have to log off and go take a nap.

Sometimes you have to trust your dealer and your inner luckbox. If I hadn't just bluff/stolen the last pot with a suited Q-10 after folding for 20min., I might have made a BS raise with my A-5 on the next hand UTG.

Full Tilt Poker Game Table 1 - 25/50 - No Limit Hold'em

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to EvilWeenie [5s Ah]
EvilWeenie folds
*** FLOP *** [5h 5c 5d]

Of course the very next hand I make the mistake of getting it all in against an aggressive player with an inferior hand. A-7vs. 5-5 and he catches his 7 on the river.

I know, I know.

Default suckouts

i honestly am always getting sucked out on. sometimes it is so gross. online poker is the worse. u know its coming too. u have like KK and are all in and will be called with something like 5/8. the flop comes like 7/9/rag.
i swaer that u can see the 6 coming and low and behold it comes. i knopw its poker and anything can happen. but it seems the worse hands win far way too many times more than dominant hands. it seems the percentages are flipped. and i have played far too many online hands where it should even out. but it doesnt. something is off with online poker. but i just love it too much and cant stop playing no matter how frustrated i get.

I misread Clay and called his all-in on the turn. The rest, as they say, is history.
