The deposit options at online poker rooms seem to be still sorted out and it is virtually impossible to keep up with them all, but here is the information as I have it up to now regarding getting funds to an online poker room.
Deposit Options: 1. Visa / Mastercard - Accepted at: FullTiltPoker.com, PokerStars.com, Bodog.com AbsolutePoker.com, Sportsbook.com ******the above rooms also accept your standard bank debit card in most cases****** Tested and confirmed by multiple forum members! Most popular version of this is the Gift2Go Visa pre-paid cards that you can pick up at most walgreens store. Purchase the card, visit the site and hit the cashier screen. Select the visa option and input the info on your card. Updates on Gift 2 Go Cards Here. Sportsbook.com says they accept virtually all types of visas and mastercards (not personally confirmed) but they work with a pre-paid phone card company. bodog.com also reports taking some bank debit cards. * do not try and purchase the $50 gift2go version as there is a $4.95 fee to purchase these cards and the minimum deposit is $50 at most rooms... after the fee you don't have enough to make a min deposit so purchase the $100 or higher version. Also be sure the card does not have "Valid in United States Only" stamped on the front or it will most likely not work. Visa / Mastercard advantages 1. Easy - purchase the card at a local store and use it online, funds available virtually instantly. 2. Available to U.S. players 2. epassporte.com - accepted at: FullTiltPoker.com, PokerStars.com, Bodog.com AbsolutePoker.com. This is online service that allows for purchase of all sorts of online items and services. Works good for both depositing and withdrawl once you complete the lengthy sign up process. Somewhat lengthy sign up time to get your account verified and active as well as have your initial deposit credited to your epassporte account. It takes around 10 days after signing up to see the initial micro deposits into your bank account. Once you see the micro-deposits, re-visit epassporte.com and log in and confirm the correct amounts. After confirmation you have the option to 'load' your account. This is the transfer of funds from your bank account to your epassporte account. This takes about 7 -10 days for your load to be credited to your epassporte.com account. From there you can purchase all sorts of online products and services. You also have the option to order a epassporte Visa ATM card. I believe regular accounts can withdraw up to $300 per day from thousands of ATM's and they have an upgrade option so you can withdraw more. There are some charges here and there, be sure and see the site for all the details. I'll know more once I finish the sign up process. It's going to take a pretty determined online poker player to set up an epassporte account, but once it is done it is reported as easy. *some epassporte load options include credit card (instead of bank account) and this happens MUCH faster (minutes rather than days). ePassporte advantages 1. Available to all U.S. Players 2. Smaller fee's than neteller, using epassporte and your checking account your future deposits are hit with smaller fees than what NETeller or firepay charged. Also email the support at which ever poker room you are going to deposit and see if they will reimburse you for the fee's... there is a good chance that they will. 3. Widely accepted - many poker rooms accept this e-wallet. 3. NUcharge.net Available at: Bodog.com I mention this one because one of our favorite rooms, bodog poker has this as a deposit option and all reports that this works like a champ. It's a pre-paid phone card that you can buy online and get it transfered over to the dog in around 30 minutes from start to finish. 4. Cash Transfers - Accepted at: FullTiltPoker.com, PokerStars.com, Bodog.com AbsolutePoker.com, Sportsbook.com Visit your local 7-11 and visit one of those ATM like cash transfer machines. Typically, this means filling out a paper form and paying a small fee for cash to be sent electronically to the receiver. You can both send and receive money at the machines. Be sure and save your confirmation # you receive after sending the $$. Take this confirmation # and provide it to the poker site. Your account should then be funded in minutes. Besides 7-11, there are literally thousands of payment locations across the country. This service is also available online. The fees run anywhere from about 5-8% but the cool thing is that many poker rooms will cover the fees if you deposit enough. Call the sites customer support and ask them the specific cash transfer details. ** email or call support at the poker room you are sending the $$ transfer PRIOR to initiating the transfer! How to Withdraw: Most sites offer a few withdrawl methods. 1. Standard Checks are available at most sites. These take anywhere from 3-35 business days. I have personally received a check from PokerStars within about 4 days of requesting it. My Full Tilt check is not expected for a full 35 days. These checks are a standard check usually written from a U.S. bank and we have not had any issues cashing / depositing them. 2. Western Union: Takes 2-7 business days and most sites will cover the fee's for 1 to 2 withdrawls per month. 3. epassporte.com - you can order a visa card from your epassporte card and withdraw $300 per day at the ATM (you can upgrade to $600). Easy, just annoying w/ the ATM fee's but it's a fast way to get your hands on your $$ if you need it. I'll update this thread as we learn more. Long live online poker! p.s. gambling online or in person may be illegal in some jurisdictions, this information is for entertainment purposes only, also no guarantees on the above information, just what we've seen so far.

The cards work great. I had a minor issue with a Visa gift card for 100 bucks that would not work.It has stamped on the front valid in the United States only . Read your card carefully or you will invest a bit to find out what works and what does not. I gave Spry a bit of wrong info last weekend about how the cards work .The cards are for the full amount you purchase and the fee is charged when you buy the card not when you use it.They work great if you get the right card. The 100 buck ones sell like hot cakes.

I haven't tried the gift cards yet - I had a Click2Pay acct. and I'm seeing if that's going to work or not after all the changes. I'd opened it a couple years ago but stopped using it for NETeller. Thank God my NETeller balance when sh*t went down was a whopping total of $0.00.

I purchased a 50.00 Visa gift to go card from Walgreens in Dacula . The price at the register was 54.95 . When I came home and logged on to full tilt , it could'nt have taken longer than 30 seconds to put in the info and to have my funds credited to my acct . Wicked fast and wicked easy ......

Hey guys, I really wanted to play tonight. But can't get deposit screen to load. Just hit button [make a deposite] and all it says is please wait while we verify account, then nothing at all, screen seems to freeze. It didn't even give us a chance to enter anything at all
I have my gift2 go card ready and then site is not working, is this normal that anyone can tell? Oh well, sigh. ![]() |

Update...after leaving the "please wait" window open it finally gives an option to use visa or mc after 19 minutes; but when you click the visa and again it seems to be unbelievably slow....nothing yet and it has been another 5 minutes....BTW we have a cable modem in good working order.
Now, 12 minutes later it allows us to enter visa information...then askes us to verify deposite amount and hit ok... Clearly the servers are totally bogged down (note to self, never try to make a deposite Sunday night prime time). 8 minutes later personal information verification screen comes up and asks you to submit...waiting for that to read an load next screen. BTW this is the fultiltpoker site I am trying to work with. Last edited by Ranndom Fire; 04-06-2008 at 08:50 PM.. |

Well it has now been over an hour and the entire process seems to have crashed. Very conveniently after they got our visa card information their screens locked up entirely. I guess I should think it is funny too. $100 in gift cards down the tubes? Live and learn I guess.......................(*%$&*%$^U%$
Have been sending email to the so call 24/7 support, for over two hours - nothing. There is no phone option listed. Again, how convenient. PS I am not mad at anyone here.... But if the gift2go cards don't work anymore like GettyLee says above (thanks for the advice), it would have been nice if someone had updated the valuable piece of information. Noted and seriously thanks for letting me know. I have puffed up myself about as much as I care to for one night, lol. So, I guess no internet poker for me for a while longer while I re-evaluate the pros and cons (still have no clue if I have lost the cards yet). Definitely the wiser route, he? Have a good one.
And I will continue to watch this thread for updates...... ![]() |
