Default Cap and Tax Bill

This link has video of Rep Boehner's analysis of a last minute amendment to the Cap and Tax bill passed by the House of Representatives on Friday. I have have only watched half of it, and, I confess, it is boring and long (over an hour). But the bill is so far-reaching that you owe to yourself to watch it.

One of the provisions of the Cap and Tax bill is that all residential structures must meet energy efficiency standards before it can be sold. But never fear, the federal governement will give you a tax credit for up to half of the cost (which will easily exceed $10K for the smallest of dwellings).

Default Rep. Deal Votes “No” on Cap-and-Trade bill

Georgia's 9th district represented by The Honorable Nathan Deal
Representative Deal voted against HR 2454, the “American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009”, also known as the Waxman-Markey Cap-and-Trade bill. It passed by a vote of 219 to 212.
In the state of Georgia alone, it is estimated this bill will cause the loss of more than 41,000 jobs in the year 2010, and the loss of over 73,000 jobs in 2011.
Representative Deal also noted it will have a definite negative affect on our power bills

Makes one Proud on this day!

I move that we rename July 4th as Dependence Day since 52 million voters cast their votes for this nonsense
