Absolute Poker Room Review
Alex S. – Playing poker online can be challenging at times, choosing which venue to play at and what games to play. At absolutepoker.com you can play anything from $.02/$.04 no limit hold ‘em to 1 on 1 $500 buy in games of 7 card stud.

Poker Home Game Robbery
Goat – Ok, so Saturday night was my first time ever being robbed at a poker game. Here’s how it went down… I will however try to set up the story as best I can. A couple weeks ago I went back to Alabama to visit my parents and some friends I haven’t seen in a couple years. Now when I last was here, most of my friends were poker degenerates. Playing 4-5 days/week, so when I came back I figured maybe they had slowed down a bit, but to no avail. The night I got back we played and had fun as we used to.

Not the Nuts, the Ovaries
Laurlee Roark – “All in,” said the young man with the New York accent, sitting next to the dealer at the poker table. Ten pairs of eyes turned towards him and then immediately down to the two cards in their own hands. One after the other, around and around the table, cards were thrown into the middle, mucked. “Okay, me too. I’m all in, too.” These words came from a small unsteady voice across the table from the dealer. Eyes flew over to this new all in person and landed on…me.

FullTilt Poker WSOP Promotions!
Spry – If you qualify for the WSOP at Full Tilt Poker, they will pay your entry fee, give you $2,000 in spending cash and give you a chance to win an additional $10 Million bucks. Here is how it works: Outlast around 8000 others and make the World Series of Poker Final Table. If you make the final Full Tilt kicks you an extra $50 g’s . You’ll already be a millionaire since you’ve made the final table of the World Series of Poker, so the $50k that Full Tilt Poker is giving you will make for at least a fine night of partying in Vegas after the WSOP.

Skank Chic Busted For Stealing Clay Poker Chips
Fuller – In a move that has come to be known as the ‘Skanken Snatch’, this unidentified skanker plays the old ‘look at the bottom of my shoe’ gag to make off with one Atlanta Poker Club clay poker chip, with an estimated street value of less than thirty cents.

Qualify for the WSOP Using The Exact Same Steps as Chris Moneymaker!
Spry – Chris had been playing at Poker Stars under the handle of Money800, playing mostly regular buy in tournaments for around $20 bucks or so. Chris was doing fairly well in some of the normal tournaments at Poker Stars when he started to notice all of the different satellite tournaments. If you haven’t played a Poker Stars before, they have more tournament variety than I’ve found anywhere, and I’ve played and nearly every online site at one time or another.

Poker Stars “Deep Stack” Tourneys
Spry – The Poker Stars deep stack tournament is just about as close to the World Series of Poker Main Event structure that you can get in a small buy-in poker tournament. (yeah, we know it is not exactly the same as the WSOP ME, but it is a whole lot closer than ALL other online events. $10/20 Starting Blinds. $5,000 starting chips, 30 minute levels. Because you’re playing online, you will get roughly twice the hands per hour than you do live. So, although the WSOP ME starts w/ $10,000 in chips and longer rounds, you start with smaller blinds and get more hands online…

FullTilt Poker Satellite Tournaments for the WSOP & WPT

Scandal At Paradise Poker – ZapAA Eliminated
Spry – When ”ZapAA” arrived in Paradise, he looked way too young to be playing poker, he’d easily get asked for an ID trying to get into a bar or even buying smokes… Hiding your age online might be relatively easy, but when you’re sitting face to face it’s a bit more difficult. According to Paradise Poker’s terms and conditions, you must be at least 21 to play online poker.

AK – The Misplayed Monster
justthedude – Tell me if this sounds familiar; “I can’t win with AK”, “I had big slick, I can’t believe you beat me with that!”, etc., etc. etc. AK is a very strong hand, however it can and does get beginners in trouble. If I were to hazard a guess, I’d say that AK is the most misplayed hand in No-Limit Poker.

5 Tips for Small Stakes No-Limit Texas Holdem Cash Game
Spry – This is important – You’re not going to win a lot of money by stealing the blinds. At the $25 max buyin games the small blind is .10 and the big blind is .25. Why steal 35 cents? For the most part it is a waste of time to try to steal it, other than mixing up your game some but no one notices at low limits anyway really.

2 Poker Rules To Live By

FullTilt Poker – The Hunt for Red In October
Spry – When you log into Full Tilt and see a table highlighted in Red, it means there is a professional poker player, playing at that table. The Turn – Where The “Truth” Is Normally Told In No-Limit Holdem
justthedude – Nothing is 100% in poker, but there are certain “poker truths” that you need to pay attention to. When I refer to “poker truths” I’m talking about something that’s true more than it is false. That’s as close as you can get in this game. The “poker truth” I want to discuss today is this: “When a player shows aggression on the turn, they usually have a strong hand.”

Win FullTilt Poker Gear!
Fuller – IMHO, FullTiltPoker.com is quickly becoming ‘the’ place to play poker online. Damn I look good! Let me see…why do I love FullTilt so? Here are just a few reasons… Best interface, use of avatars and table functionality. It is as close to playing live as you can get online. It actually feels like you’re at the table. They allow you to set up private poker tournaments so you can play with the people you choose. We (the APC) play every Sunday night in a private online game and it’s a blast. See more…

Value & Protection Betting In No-Limit Texas Holdem
6foot3 – There is a balance to betting that must be reached in order to receive maximum value for your hands. This balance is the struggle between Value and Protection Betting. On the Value side, you want to extract the maximum amount of money from your opponent. And on the Protection side, you want to prevent losing the amount of money you have invested in a pot.

5 Tips To Use When Playing Heads Up Poker
justthedude – In last nights impromptu on-line poker games I noticed something that seems to be pretty common. A lot of players who play great poker through an entire game lose it when they get to heads up play. Playing heads up meaning playing against only one other opponent. If you’re a winning tournament player you’ll always need a strong grasp of ideas and concepts that go into a good strategy for winning heads up. Remember, these tips are for Heads up Poker Strategy.

4 Levels of Poker Play
justthedude – There was mention in a forum thread of people at the APC locations getting better as the season has progressed. That got me thinking about the progression that a poker player takes as he (she) gets better. I also think it’s good to assess where you’re at every now and then so you know what you need to do to get better.

No Limit Hold ‘Em Table Selection Tips
Spry – Selecting the good tables is one of the most important factors to being a winning poker player. One of the biggest problems I find with most new online poker players is their lack of No Limit Holdem Table Selection. A major mistake most players seem to make is just sitting down at the first table they find at the stakes they want and start playing. Even worse if they table is bad they don’t leave, they sit there and lose their money!

Poker Strategy – Advanced No-Limit
pokertips.org – According to famous poker player and author Doyle Brunson, No-Limit Hold’em is the Cadillac of all poker games. The skill involved with No-Limit games is tremendous, even seasoned professionals admit that they still have a lot to learn at No-Limit Hold’em. However, don’t let this scare you; No-Limit Hold’em is, in my opinion, the most fun of all poker games as well. It can also be profitable, sometimes even for beginners.

Party Poker.net TV Commercials
Fuller – Have you noticed that whenever Party Poker advertises on TV that they only use the words “Party Poker” or Party Poker.net ? Never the .com. Have you noticed? Every wondered why? Party Poker.net is a site that allows you to create a play money account and learn how to play Texas Holdem completely for free. If you are new to online poker and want to see examples and step by step instruction you can use the Party Poker Step-by-Step sign up guide. This is free, fun and easy… and it is the only way Party Poker and other online poker rooms like Poker Stars.net can advertise on TV. Here is a review of Party Poker.

Goat – I love watching the pro’s play online poker over at Full Tilt! Check out these screen shots from Full Tilt Poker Here is a shot of John Juanda playing 10/20 NL… Don’t know if it is true, but John said that he is down $25k on FullTilt since he started… warms my heart to hear that even the Pro’s lose money sometimes!

Palace Casino Resort Card Room Review, Biloxi MS
Richard Taylor – “The Best Poker Room on the Gulf” was the advertisement in the Biloxi, MS newspaper. Honestly, I didn’t think it would be very tough to make that claim. Poker rooms in the Biloxi-Gulfport area are typical grinding rooms with lots of 1-4-8-8 Hold’em action sprinkled with some Stud and maybe a 1-2 No Limit game. They are all the same for the most part. Then, along came the Palace.

You Have To Lose To Win
Goat – “What the hell is Goat talking about? You have to lose to win?? Sounds like Goat has been munching on too much grass.” You gotta lose to win. You have to risk chips, in the right situations, to win consistently. Sometimes you will lose more chips than if you would have just folded when you didn’t hit the flop and someone bets before you. What are these plays then? I guess my best answer is it depends on what you personally like to play aggressively. I don’t know that answer, I’m just a rook myself, but I want to learn how to play better.

What I Like About Poker
Goat – Where do I begin? What do I like about poker? Many things come to mind, first I enjoy winning money, as everyone probably does, but poker is more than that to me. I enjoy the competition, I enjoy the psychological aspect of the game. It is almost primal in a sense. I was watching the World Poker Tour on the Travel Channel and they were interviewing Howard Lederer, an excellent player and he said that there is something primitively appealing about taking.

The Idiot Approach
Mystic – Playing online poker can differ greatly from playing poker on the pro circuit. While on the pro circuit you can get to know the opponents you encounter quite well, and can study and adapt to their personal methods of play. In online poker, however, the players you encounter will often differ greatly from day to day as new players enter the game. Many of these players will lack skill at the game of poker, backing up bad hands with good money, while still others will be lurking at tables waiting to take advantage of these weaker players. You can take advantage of this phenomenon by taking the idiot approach.

Spry – Since I’ve been a suscriber at Card Runners (about 4 weeks) I’ve moved up one level and I’m up over $800 bucks playing 6 man .50/1 no limit ring games at Poker Stars. I give a lot of credit to the online poker training site that I recently joined. That training site, Card Runners. It is the only online training site that features a wide selection of no limit cash games, and the guys teaching are some of the best in the industry. It’s awesome,
