is holding a mega tournament that awards 150
seats to the WSOP Main Event.
Having the last three World Series of Poker
winners playing at their site and endorsing
poker
stars.net on TV, PokerStars is obviously
very interested in having a huge player representation
at the WSOP. That is $1.8 Million worth of
guaranteed World Series of Poker packages
in this one huge tournament!
If you buy in directly to the tournament,
it will cost you $370. So it's no cheap tourney,
but what do you expect for a prize pool worth
at least $1.8 Million. 150 players will win
a WSOP package which gets each one a seat
into the $10,000 Main Event. This tournament
is called "WSOP 150 Seats Guaranteed"
in the Poker Stars Software under 'Events
/ WSOP'.

Satellite into the
World Series Of Poker qualifier at PokerStars...
One of our favorite sites, Poker Stars, is
one of the best paths into the WSOP. We scoured
the online poker rooms and researched the
different ways to qualify for the World Series
of Poker.
Don't want to pay the hefty $370 entry fee
to get a seat in this kick ass wsop satellite
tournament? Well, Poker Stars makes it very
easy to qualify for the qualifier. They offer
a huge variety of sat's into the 150 seat
guaranteed. Commenting about the ways to get
into this tournament via Poker Stars, one
our KAP regulars said,

Heed his wisdom! apwine plays as much on poker
stars as anyone I know.
There are indeed quite the assload of ways
to get into this qualifier:
- You can cashin your "FPP's" (frequent
player points) in special satellite tournaments
or you can buy in starting at $3 bucks. For
those of you who play a lot on Stars already,
the 2000 point FPP's look like a pretty juicy
entry. There are also a handful of 150FPP
rebuy tournaments, if rebuys are your thing.
- There are also tons of cash satellites into
this 150 WSOP guarantee. Starting at the $3
rebuy tournament up to the more expensive
qualifiers that have less opponents and 1
table qualifiers.
- There is a $60 satellite that looks interesting
as well as a 20 person, $24 buyin winner take
the seat in the seat and 2nd and 3rd take
$40 and $30 respectively.
- PokerStars offers sit-n-go satellites start
at 1500 FPP's with 20 players up to more expensive
1 table satellites. Ther is a $45 sit-n-go
that awards 1st place a seat and 2nd place
$50.
Not bad for a shot at a 1.8 million prize
pool.

This tournament has a slightly higher buy
in amount than the poker stars qualifier.
They are also giving away 50 less seats than
the Poker Stars tournament, but this is still
a huge chance to win a seat in the WSOP.
FullTiltPoker is awarding 100 WSOP Packages
valued at $12,000 including a $10,000 WSOP
main event 100 players will win a WSOP main
event package valued at $12,000, plus you
will be eligible for the other WSOP perks
of winning your seat from Full Tilt, including
the chance to take home 10 million extra if

$10k for the WSOP Main Event and $2k for travel
and lodging. You get the $2k if you agree
to and comply to all of the Full Tilt Poker
T's and C's such as wearing some Full
Tilt Poker clothes while playing in the
WSOP. This is standard across the online industry
when you win a seat at the WSOP.
I think the Fulltiltpoker tournament will
have less players than the Poker Stars tournament,
although this will still be a pretty large
field with 2,000 players or more. FullTiltPoker
has great tournament structure and they are
getting a lot of tournament players because
of the excellent blind structure for multi-tables.
At the time of writing this article (July
11th), Fulltilt actually has more players
registered in the tournament than Poker Stars,
although I think this will change as we get
closer to tournament start time. PokerStars
dominates for tournament traffic.
The buy in is a little higher on FullTilt
and the overall player volume isn't as high.
Tilt also offers plenty of qualifiers into
the wsop satellite, but not quite as many
as the 'assload' offered by pokerstars. We
shall see which of these tournaments draws
the most players, interesting from a WSOP
marketing perspective anyway.
