dedicated forum (set up dedicated forum).
To be informed when we launch CardShark make
sure you recieve the KAP newsletter. The
Shark is coming… Welcome to
CardShark, a KAP exclusive content feature.
CardShark is a little game we like to play
here at KAP. The idea behind it is that for
every action in poker, there are certain moves
that are better than others. Collectively
we want to find those moves. How it
works: We deal out an actual hand
to a table with 5 opponents. The 6th player
at the table is you. Not just you, but the
entire KAP community (we’ll explain).
The other 5 hands are played by real players,
not some fictional hands that are made up
purely on our whims. Our opponents are making
real moves, real actions… It is our
job as a group we decide how we act and which
action we take. How you get your cards:
The KAP hand will be included in
the newsletter to everyone who signs up to
play CardShark. You’ll also get access
to the dedicated CardShark forum. This forum
is password protected and used exclusively
for discussion of CardShark. Our opponents
won’t have access to our hand or the
dedicated forum. Check the Action:
Come back to this page and click on the action
link above. We report the action up until
it is our turn to act. Check the Forum:
Discuss our options with other KAP members
and decide for yourself how you’ll cast
your vote. Vote: You only
get one vote, so use it wisely. Raise it,
fold it or call it… democracy in action.
Once the vote is complete we will take our
action and await our next opportunity to act.
Repeat: The process continues
like a normal game of poker. If we fold the
other opponents will continue to play out
the hand and the results will be posted. New
hands: New hands start on Monday
mornings. CardShark hands may last a week
or several weeks depending on our collective
actions. Cards will be dealt and the hand
will continue as long as we keep playing our
hand. Don’t be afraid to get in the
water... CARDSHARK FAQ
What stakes are we playing for?
For simplicity sakes, we are playing Limit
Texas at $10/20 and everyone is starting out
with a $500 bankroll. How does the
voting work?
The voting booth will be open immediately.
You may vote at any time. We will withhold
taking any action until the votes are considerably
biased in one direction. If the vote is somewhat
close we will hold off taking action until
a time deadline is passed. Generally the deadline
will be 3 days after we open the booth. If
the vote is a clear winner we will not delay
the action of the hand by waiting for the
time deadline to pass before we act. What
is the goal line?
First player to double their bankroll wins.
Are there any prizes?
Absolutely, if we win. We will reward the
active CardShark members with a little KA
gear.
How will we keep our cards a secret?
First rule of CardShark, never talk about
CardShark. Unless it’s in the dedicated
forum of course. The other 5 opponents are
personal acquaintances of ours and they will
receive their individual hands by the CardShark
Captain. I nominate Goat for that position…
They will report their actions to him and
he will post the action to the web. They have
all been briefed on the play of the game and
are actively looking forward to the challenge.
These opponents are trustworthy and have vowed
to keep the integrity of the game. When
will the first hand start?
Soon. We are signing up players now. We hope
to begin the game on.
Thanks and we'll see you at the tables!
