Who
are you guys?
Just a couple of guys who finally decided
to follow through on one of their ideas.
Why KickAssPoker?
Lot’s of reasons really.
First and foremost we love poker. One of
our founders wants to be a pro one-day,
the rest of us just love to play poker.
We think it’s an excellent hobby.
Secondly, we love web development. Our
head designer does it for a living, check
him out over at FQ. It was a nice fit.
Next, the web needs a place like KAP. A
community. A site where you can go and interact
with others of similar interest, a place
where you hone your skills and where you
grow your game. A place that you feel comfortable
visiting. We will never spam you with emails,
we will never pound you with pop-ups and
we think that the flashing banner ads that
are on every other poker website are extremely
annoying. That’s not our style.
Finally, we
might make a little money. Let’s not
kid ourselves, we know we all won’t
be able to retire tomorrow, and we’ll
never make the mega bucks like the online
casino’s do, but we might make enough
to buy a few entries into some decent sized
tournaments, and hey, that’s not too
shabby and it could turn Moneymaker good
(with a little help from the cards now and
then).
No no no… We mean why the
name “KickAssPoker”?
Ahhh… well in that case the answer
is pretty easy. You can remember it. We
actually own lots of poker domain names.
We looked through our list and asked ourselves
which of these names would I be most likely
to visit if I saw the name somewhere, which
name would I be most likely to remember
later? KickAssPoker is easy to remember,
it is kind of ‘In your Face’
so to speak. I know I’d go check this
site out if I saw it somewhere. Obviously
you did too.
But it has a swear word in it!
If you can’t handle the word kickass
you probably shouldn’t be playing
poker.
How long has KAP been up and running?
We first began work on KAP in October of
'03. We went live on January 31, 2004.
How do you plan to make your money?
We have an agreement with most of the major
online poker houses. Whenever one of
our faithful joins one of these websites
and uses one of our links or one of our
referral codes we make a small commission,
and our faithful friend receives a deposit
bonus.
This is one of the few instances where it
really is a win-win-win situation. Whomever
we refer gets a bonus that they wouldn’t
get otherwise, we make our commission, and
the online poker site gets a new client.
We will also explore other options as the
site progresses. We already have shirts,
hats and window decals. Selling them cheap
too so we can help spread our name. Buy
a shirt and we’ll send you a free
decal.
Are you poker professionals?
No, but we are avid players and more than
that, avid learners. We’ve booked
literally thousands of hours at the poker
tables both online and in person. We plan
on using this site to grow our game as much
as you guys use it to grow yours. Don’t
take anything we say for the absolute truth.
That’s a pretty good creed to follow
for pretty much everything you hear about
anything.
I like the concept, can I contribute?
Absolutely, the best way is to simply join
in a forum
discussion about poker. We are all active
members there, you’ll get to know
us over time and we’ll get to know
you. You can also submit articles. We'll
post the quality ones.
Why should I contribute?
Because we listen. If you have an idea for
a feature on our site that we believe will
increase the quality of our site, you will
see it implemented.
What is your favorite food?
Personally I really like chicken parmigiana,
either that or a
good orange. Oranges are good oomkay.
Where do you live?
We all live in the Atlanta area.
What is the capital of New Zealand?
Wellington.
Thanks and we'll see you at the tables!
