SportsbookPoker And PlayersOnly Going To Merge (Gaming Network, That Is)
Most poker sites are part of a network. There’s the iPoker Network, headed by TitanPoker; there’s the CEREUS Network, headed by UB.com and Absolute Poker. And there’s the Merge Network, with sites including AcedPoker, CarbonPoker, IronDuke, PokerNordica, and ReeferPoker. The latter of these, Merge Gaming, is about to get a little bigger.
It seems the New Years resolution for the Merge Network is expansion, and they’re wasting no time, having already added PokerFantasy to their roster and about to add two new sites in a matter of a couple of months (April to be exact). Those sites are Sportsbook Poker and Players Only (both of which offer online casino gaming and online sports betting in addition to online poker).
Sportsbook Poker and Players Only Poker are making the move to Merge from the Cake Poker Network, headed (obviously) by Cake Poker, but also including many other top name sites, including the esteemed DoylesRoom (the official poker site of Doyle Brunson), as well as StryykePoker, LockPoker, and PokerHost. Seems a risky tradeoff, with Cake being the more successful of the two at the moment, but at least Merge does have a weekly running average of nearly 250 players, and upwards of 500 at peak times, which is not too shabby for a mid-size poker network.
Says Roger Whitaker of Jazette Enterprises, parent company of PlayersOnly and Sportsbook.com:
“Our goal is to provide our players with the best poker experience possible, which is why we decided to make this move. We’re confident that our players will enjoy the groundbreaking features, generous loyalty rewards program, and improved overall playability that Merge’s poker software provides.”
Players Only Poker, Sportsbook Poker Hosting $50,000 NFL Primetime Promos
Players Only Poker & Sportsbook Poker Host NFL Primetime Promotions Worth $50,000 Each

Players Only Poker and Sportsbook Poker both are holding frequent player points races with bigger rewards (meaning a greater share of that total $50,000 jackpot) for bigger earnings.
Getting the cash bonus deposited into your Players Only Poker or Sportsbook Poker account is not as simple as earning enough frequent player points, though.
The points give you access to a NFL Primetime final freeroll where the prize money is awarded to the top performers. The more frequent player points you earn the bigger and better the freeroll you get your entry into. There are four NFL Primetime freeroll final events in all, each with a different size prize pool, specifically: $5,000; $10,000; $15,000; $20,000.
- All NFL Primetime final freerolls happen on January 31.
You have from January 1 to January 24 to earn as many frequent player points as you can by playing as much as you can at cash game tables labeled NFL Primetime at either Players Only Poker and Sportsbook Poker.
From what it looks like, although the two promotions at the two online poker rooms are identical in structure, frequent player points earned at one site are non-transferrable to the other. So to win a seat in one of the NFL Primetime finals, you must earn all your qualifying points at the same poker site. You can, of course, participate separately in both Players Only and Sportsbook Poker NFL Primetime promotions, so long as you earn enough qualifying frequent player points at each site.
So play at either PlayersOnly Poker or Sportsbook Poker or play at both……… Just make sure to play!
The Basics Of Online Poker Bonus Whoring
For those of you who have been slugging it out in the trenches trying to make money at 1 or 2 poker rooms, it can seem like a grind. And if you’re just breaking even, your bankroll may be constantly flirting on “Empty.” A lot of you know about the bonuses offered by our top-rated poker rooms, but haven’t developed a system for using them to your advantage. Today, we’re going to change that.
Here’s your 3-minute guide to online poker bonus whoring.
Starting Small
First, we’re going to assume that your stock portfolio has taken a beating lately and as a result, you’re on a limited poker budget. Let’s start with $50. Visit PokerStars.com and use bonus code “stars50” to get your 100% match.
Once you’ve played enough raked hands to clear your bonus, withdraw your bankroll. Assuming that you’ve broken even, you should now have $100 (your original $50 plus the $50 bonus).
Now, visit FullTiltPoker.com and use bonus code “kickasspoker” to get another 100% match. After you’ve cleared it, you should have $200. Again, we’re assuming you’re breaking even on the tables.
Next, let’s jump over to Sportsbook Poker. You can get a 100% match on your $200 bankroll by using bonus code “kickass“. Hit the tables, play enough raked hands, and withdraw your bankroll. By now, it should have grown to $400.
Think about that for a moment. You’ve gone from your original $50 bankroll to $400 by taking advantage of the sign-up bonuses at only 3 online poker rooms.
That’s how basic bonus whoring is done.
2 Quick Notes
We need to clarify a couple of points here.
First, you can really knock this strategy out of the park by keeping your eyes open for reload bonuses and other promos. If you time it right, you can do even better that what we’ve outlined above.
Second, keep in mind that bonus whoring works best with small amounts. If you’re depositing $10,000, the poker rooms aren’t going to give you a 100% match. If you find any that do, let us know!
There are several great poker rooms at which you can use this strategy. Read our online poker room reviews to plan your system. If you need to, start small and work your way up. Leave the poker rooms that offer larger bonuses at the tail end of your system.
How’s that for a little dirty fun?
